A mission from the Deputy Mayor of the Municipality of Panama, Raisa Banfield, and Wetlands International Panama -based at the City of Knowledge- to conferences in the port city of Rotterdam, has been successful to provide global attention to the "Water Dialogues", connect to international initiatives and learn good practices in the fight against urban flooding.
On Wednesday, July 1st, the City of Knowledge Foundation, the Mayor’s Office of Panama and the Patronato Panamá Viejo held the fourth discussion on urban watersheds: The Río Abajo subbasin, at the Patronato Panamá Viejo.
Wetlands International -based at the City of Knowledge- supported the mission of the Dutch team for risk reduction "DRR Team" and the Mayor of the Municipality of Panama, in their initial diagnosis for finding solutions to the problems of urban flooding in the Bay of Panama.
Students of the Texas Christian University (TCU) Global Academy conducted a presentation at the Training and Business Center on the work done in Panama with NGOs located at the City of Knowledge campus.
On Friday, August 30th, the Month of the Oceans 2013 "Healthy Oceans for Humanity" launch was held at the Large Meeting Room of the Smithsonian Tropical Research Institute.
In recent days a campaign was launched for Wetlands Conservation through the efforts coordinated by CIAM and the participation of Almanaque Azul, Ancon, AUDUBON, CEASPA, City of Knowledge Foundation, RAMSAR, PASOS, MarViva Foundation, Natura, PRO MAR, Wetlands International, The Nature Conservancy and FUNDESPA.
